Housing Appeals Board

Holds hearings, grants variances, mediates appeals, and recommends enforcement action in the administration of Housing Code Enforcement.

General Requirements

Seven Members - The Board shall consist of not more than seven members and not less than three members who are qualified by experience and training to pass on matters pertaining to property maintenance and one member who has a demonstrated interest in historic preservation, and who are not employed by the City. If the city council by resolution finds that no suitable person with the required qualifications is available for appointment to fill a vacancy on the Board that has remained open for at least two (2) months, then the council may appoint a representative of the general public to fill the vacancy. The member so appointed shall not be reappointed unless the council by resolution finds that no suitable person with the required qualifications is then available for appointment to the Housing Appeals Board.
