The City of Des Moines works closely with Des Moines Water Works (DMWW) to provide safe, clean and available drinking water for residents. The DMWW is an independently operated public utility that provides water to approximately 500,000 people in the Greater Des Moines area. Because the DMWW is independently operated, the City of Des Moines is not affiliated with drinking water rates, distribution projects or DMWW customer service. Des Moines Water Works administers garbage collection and sewer enterprise (stormwater utility and sanitary sewer) fees on behalf of the City of Des Moines. If you need information about the Des Moines water utility company you can find it at Des Moines Water Works
