Help Fund Future Trail Projects with the Mayor's Annual Ride and Run on April 20

DES MOINES, IOWA – Tuesday, April 02, 2019
– Register for the 2019 Mayor’s Annual Ride and Run and you will be supporting construction of Des Moines River Trail – Phase 2. This section of the trail will connect James W. Cownie Baseball Park to Easter Lake Park.

This will be the 32nd year of the event, to be held Saturday, April 20. New in 2019, Principal Park (1 Line Drive) will host to the pre-ride celebration and serve as the start line for each event. The 5K run/walk and 1-mile family fun walk starts at 9 a.m. followed by the 22-mile bike ride taking off at 10 a.m. Participants can enjoy a kickoff celebration from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. with breakfast from Hy-Vee and refreshments at the starting line for both events.

Registration fees are $35 per adult until April 19 and $50 on the day of the event. Children’s fees are $5 for those ages 5 - 18 years, and children 4 and younger are free. For an additional $5, participants can enter both events. All will receive a reusable water bottle, refreshments at the rest stop, pre-event breakfast, sag support, and the repair van.
