Press Release

Des Moines, Iowa — Friday, March 12, 2021 — The City of Des Moines recently released a major update to its myDSMmobile app, adding new features that make it easier for residents to stay connected to City government. Since the launch of the app in August 2016, myDSMmobile has been downloaded more than 8,000 times on Android and iOS. Between the online and downloadable versions, more than 25,000 reports and requests have been processed by City staff.

The app provides residents the ability to attach a GPS location, photos and video to help City crews efficiently and effectively pinpoint problems and address them. Popular requests include reporting potholes and storm sewer issues, requesting a street sweeper or mosquito control, and informing staff about overgrown weeds and inoperable vehicles.

The updated version of myDSMmobile includes a fresh new look and additional ways to connect to the City with a tap of your finger:

  • Review garbage and recycling collection guidelines
  • Find the latest snow removal updates
  • Locate current and planned closures for roads and trails
  • Read up on the latest City news and calendar of events
  • Pay for permits, library fines and parking tickets
  • Access Show Me My House for information specific to your address
Visit DSM.city/myDSMmobile for links to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, or to submit your request online.
