City Buildings Closing To Observe Christmas Holiday

Des Moines, Iowa — Tuesday, December 21, 2021 — City administration buildings will be closed on Thursday, December 23 and Friday, December 24 to observe the Christmas holiday and will remain closed until Monday, December 27.

However, because Christmas falls on a Saturday, there will be NO delay to garbage and recycling collection this week. Residents should put out their garbage, recycling and yard waste on their normal collection day and call the Public Works Customer Service Center at 515-283-4950 to report a missed cart.
