Yoga in the Park begins June 1

yog400200DES MOINES, IOWA —Wednesday, May 29, 2019 —Des Moines Parks and Recreation and UnityPoint Health – Des Moines invite you to participate in a free weekly yoga session at the Clare and Miles Mills Rose Garden (4800 Grand Avenue) in Greenwood Park this summer. Classes are held every Saturday beginning June 1 through September 28, from 9 – 10 a.m. There will be no session on July 13.

Local volunteer instructors lead each session. For a complete list of instructors, visit our website. You are encouraged to bring a mat or a towel as well as some water. No registration for the class is required, just show up ready to relax, release and enjoy.

“We are pleased to once again have UnityPoint Health – Des Moines sponsor Yoga in the Park, one of our most popular programs,” said Benjamin R. Page, Director, Des Moines Parks and Recreation. “Due to the construction at Gray’s Lake Park we are excited to move it the Clare and Miles Mills Rose Garden, one of our signature facilities.”

“This is our fifth year sponsoring Yoga in the Park and we couldn’t be more proud,” said David Stark, President and CEO of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines. “It’s important to us as a health organization to support wellness programs like this one that are free and open to all, creating a great sense of community.”
